5/5 StarsBest value for the money | The local water company made us put a backflow system in and since we didn't want any problems, we used a plumber to install it. He recommended either a Watts or Wilkins regulator to replace the existing undersized one. After getting a quote for the parts, we decided to shop ourselves. Our local supplier didn't carry this model (we didn't need the clean-out option) and PlumberSurplus had the best price [...] Even our plumber was surprised at the price and we think he may be pricing at PlumberSurplus in the future.

4/5 StarsLead free Pressure Reducing Valve | I have used the leaded version of this Pressure Reducing Valve for the past 14 years and history has shown that they last no longer than 4 years. The failure occurs suddenly and if you do not monitor your water pressure regularly the result can be a catastrophic failure of residential rated (<80psi) plumbing fixtures (I had a R.O. tank explode as the result of one of these failures). The city of Phoenix delivers water to my home at pressures as high as 130psi and I know that these Pressure Reducing Valves fail, so I have a permanently plumbed a water pressure gage that I check weekly. I replace the Pressure Reducing Valve when it fails to control the incoming pressure. I continue to use this item because I cannot find a better alternative.
