Watts Series N170L-M2 are provided in sizes ¾" through 2" with threaded connections (size 2" has 1-1/2" cold connection). *Furnished with a special low temperature range thermostat * Temperature range 100°F-130°F (38°-55°C)*. For proper operation, do not exceed 210°F (99°C). Max. pressure 150 psi. Watts Series N170L-M2 hot water extender tempering valves are especially designed for use on larger hot water supply systems for mixing hot and cold water for a variety of applications to extend the hot water supply. This series features a unique "double thermostat design" which combines two thermostats in one to provide response to changes in water temperature passing through the mixing chamber. In addition, the operating life of the element is vastly improved over contemporary designs because the travel load is divided evenly between the two sensing elements. This new concept of thermostat design in series N170L-M2 also provides a powerful force on opening and closing. Thus, the combination of a sensitive, powerful thermostatic force combined with a free-moving, high-temperature-resisting rubber disc assures longer valve life and more satisfactory system performance. An additional feature of the series N170L-M2 is that the dual action thermostat is interchangeable in all sizes from 3/4" through 2" for both old and new designs.
***Warning*** Watts Hot Water Temperature Control Valves cannot be used for tempering water temperature at fixtures. Severe bodily injury (i.e., scalding or chilling) and/or death may result depending upon system water pressure changes. ASSE standard 1016 listed devices such as Watts Model L111 or MMV should be used at fixtures to prevent possible injury. The Watts Hot Water Temperature Control Valves are designed to be installed at or near the boiler or hot water heater. They are not designed to compensate for system pressure fluctuations and should not be used where ASSE 1016 devices are required. These WATTS valves should never be used to provide "anti-scald" or "anti-chill" service. When installing the Series 1170 valves in a radiant heat application, the components of the radiant heat system must be of materials with a construction capable of withstanding the high limit output temperatures of the heating boiler.
