Luke Warm

I'm an electrician. I installed this model in a very small cabin with a sink and a shower. Right out of the box I heard a small piece of plastic had broken off and because this small piece was broken the guts were not secure (Try using metal). Also the elecrical connections could be mounted so that you could make the internal connections after you clamp the cable (such a tight tollerance that you have to do this in reverse which is not typical - try putting the terminal block 90 degrees to the connector because there is pleanty of room). Oh by the way it draws about 24Amps @ 215Volts and I can't get hot water from it even at minimum flow. What a disappointment. Gonna try a different manufacturer next.

Instant hot water!

Perfect for the kitchen sink. It used to take forever for the water to get hot with my water heater so far away in the basement, but not with this DHC 6-2. The water is perfect for washing dishes at 0.6 gal/min. and for hotter water, slow down the flow a little.

The precise product for my application

I am glad I replaced the tank with this

Using the unit in my two and a half bath home occupied by just my wife and me. The 6-2 is the only water heater in operation. the water pressure is about what we were used to with the old tank and so is the temperature. I am happy. [...]

I installed this unit as a replacement for a 40 gal tank heater that supplies bathrooms that are used very little in our house. Even though it was installed at the WH site and not point of use, the hot water output is adequate for a shower, or bath etc. I don't think this sized unit would be adequate for normal usage however. Overall, easy to install and is performing to my expectations.

Great Tankless Water Heater

I am using this heater to heat the water for a 2,000 sq. ft house and it works like a charm, only catch is that we are only 3 in the house so we have not had any issues. [...]

Small improvements would help.

From the point of maintainability the reset button located inside the unit is not accessable in most cases. This will often necessitate the removal and disconnect of various plumbing. Design change would be needed.
The wire block holes for securing AWG #10 wire are too large and can sometime result in the Line wiring to be out of alignment with the set screw..... resulting in a bad connection.
