Moen 100107 Protege Side Spray, Universal Replacement, Chrome

This replacement unit does not install in the exact same way. The original connection was more like a compression fitting which just screwed on and off. The replacement has a male fitting and an adapter. While this wouldn't be too bad in a wide open area and could be dealt with, the actual connection is high up at the bottom of a sink under a cabinet. I found if you attach the adapter to the male fitting and then you only have to tighten the adapter. It was hard getting up their, but once I figured out how to do it, it only took about 5 minutes. Since the adapter was tighter to the male fitting before installing to the unit, no leaks.

While this replacement unit looks exactly like the original equipment, it does not install in the exact same way. As you attempt to tighten the adapter part, it unscrews from the male side. You need to use the awkward method of twisting the hose under the sink in order to tighten it in place, and even then, the connection has a slight leak.

If you want it to look the same, get this because it's right, but bring a lot of patience when you go to install.

This is a great replacement product for moen taps...it is the exact same one that was on my old taps.....the only negative about the product was that the connector hose didn't match or screw in to my old taps, but I just used the old hose off my old side spray and put it on the new one. It should fit with most newer moen taps. I'm pleased with my purchase.
