The Grundfos UP10-16BU/ATLC Comfort Series 1/33 HP Recirculator Pump with Union Connection includes timer, aquastat, and line cord. The Grundfos circulator pumps, Series UP, are specifically designed for heating systems. The pumps are also suitable for circulation of hot domestic water and for circulation of liquid in cooling and air-conditioning systems.

For those unfamiliar with the connection of a timer, aquastat, isolation valve and check valve in a traditional hot water recirculation system the task can appear daunting. After installing a return line in a new home some contractors have battled a bundle of components necessary to complete the job.

Grundfos innovation offers the only traditional recirculation solution that provides all of the answers in one package. The UP10-16BU ATLC makes a hot water recirculation installation a snap. You pull the dedicated return line, the circulator does the rest!

The water-conduction part of the pump is hermetically separated from the stator with a stainless steel spherical separator. The motor can be separated from the pump housing, enabling easy maintenance and replacement. UP10-16 is supplied with insulating shells.

Liquid temperature: 36°F +(2°C) to 203°F +(95°C). It is recommended to keep the operating temperature as low as possible (e.g. 140F°(60°C)) to avoid calcium precipitation. The ambient temperature should always be lower than the liquid temperature, as otherwise condensation may form in the stator housing.

Review on Grundfos UP10-16BU/ATLC Comfort Series 1/33 HP Recirculator Pump with Union Connection (96433902)

This is the second pump I've bought. I failed to de-calcify the last one every 6 months and it got really full of deposits. I think it will still work fine, though. I soaked the brass portion in vinegar for quite a while and got all the crud out, but all the plastic filters and valves are simply gone. This new pump goes on a maintenance schedule - I installed valves so I can isolate the pump from the system prior to removing it in the future...
