• Though product can be mounted horizontally, this can decrease the life of the product.

Q: Amtrol 90 EXTROL EXPANSION TANK - WHAT HAPPENS OVER TIME WHEN IT IS INSTALLED HORIZONTALLY? YOUR PRODUCT INFO. STATED THAT IT'S LIFE SPAN WOULD BE REDUCED IF MOUNTED HORIZONTALLY? THE REASON I'M ASKING IS THAT I HAD A PLUMBING CONTRACTOR REFUSE TO MAKE THE CHANGE AND GO VERTICAL WITH IT CAUSE THE MFG. SAID IT WAS OK. IT HAD PREVIOUSLY PASSED THE STATE BOILER INSPECTION, SO THEY FIGURED IT WAS GOOD TO GO. I WAS JUST WONDERING. IS IT THAT THE RUBBER DIAPHRAM IS EXPOSED TO HOT WATER MORE?
