Toilet Installation

Step: 1 Tools Required for Installation

Materials and Tools Needed:

• Putty Knife
• Adjustable Wrench
• Level
• Tape Measure
• Sponge

Step: 2 Removing the Old Toilet

First, Remove the old toilet, but before you begin turn off and disconect the water supply, then flush the old toilet. To remove any remaining water use a sponge in the toilet tank and bowl. To remove the old tank, lossen the T-bolts that secure the bowl to the floor. Important Note: Risk of hazardous gasses. Rock the bowl back and forth to loosen the wax seal. Once the wax seal is loose enough remove the old toilet bowl. Use a putty knife to remove the old wax seal and wipe the area clean of any remaining wax with a rag or sponge.

Step: 3 Installing the Toilet Bowl

Rest the new toilet bowl on a padded surface next to the installation site. Attach the new wax seal to the bottom of the toilet bowl. Align the toilet bowl outlet with the flange, apply weight and press down on the bowl to set the wax seal. Important Note: Risk of external leakage. Do not move the toilet bowl once the wax seal has touched the flange, this may break the seal resulting in external leakage. If the wax seal breaks in this process you will need to replace the wax seal. Now you will need to secure the bowl. Place the plastic cap bases over the T-bolts in the up position. Slide a washer and thread a nut on to each T-bolt. Important Note: Risk of product damage. Evenly tighten the nuts on to the T-bolt until the nuts are secure. Be careful not to over tighten as this may damage the product. If necassary shorten the bolt with the hacksaw. Be very careful not to touch the bowl with the hacksaw as the hacksaw can chip or break the toilet. Finally, snap the plastic caps on to the cap bases.

Step: Installing the Tank

Now that you have the toilet bowl in position it is time to install the toilet tank. Slinde the retaining bolts into the bracket on the bottom of the tank. Press the gasket onto the tank outlet. Position the tank on the bowl by cnetering the gasket on the bowl inlet. Assembe the washers and nuts on to the tank bolts. Important Note: Risk of product damage. Alternately tighten the nuts so that the tank is level and the mounting bracket tabs make contact with the bowl.

Step: 5 Reconnecting the Water Supply

Important Note: Risk of external leakage. Connect the water supply to the tank. Open the water supply valve and check for leaks, and make any adjustments as needed. Install the toilet seat according to the manufacturers instructions. To finish installation place the tank cover on the tank.

Step: 6 Adjusting the Water Tank Level

Your toilet is designed to use either 1.4 or 1.6 gallons of water per flush. Adjust the flush volume in the tank by adjusting the water level to the appropriate water line, the water lines are marked on the flush valve. To raise the water level pinch the C-clip and slie it up the float rod.
