They have businesses in three areas: Air Conditioning Systems and Services, Bath & Kitchen Products and Vehicle Control Systems. They are the world's leading producer of bathroom and kitchen fixtures and faucets, sold under such brands as American Standard® and Ideal Standard®, for consumer and commercial markets. American Standard was founded in 1875. In 1899 they began to merge with several different plumbing companies. These companies eventually formed the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company, which pioneered many of the plumbing improvements of the century. They manufacturer bathtubs, bidets, kitchen and bathroom faucets, furniture, showers, sinks, toilets, whirlpools and accessories. American Standard has been around for over 100 years and continues to make improvements to the kitchen and plumbing world.
